The heart of the History Discovery Center, this state-of-the-art research library serves the community by offering unequalled local history resources. Visitors will access our extensive local history collection both in print and online. Researchers will use the library to inspect our vast collection of primary sources. The space will also serve as a function for public programming, bringing local history to life.
Our collection holds priceless, irreplaceable treasures from every era and every place in our county’s long history. The Artifact Preservation Labs allow our Curator and volunteer staff to properly conserve, organize, and store these valuable objects. These labs provide climate-controlled storage and workspaces to aid in safeguarding our heritage.
This inviting space will welcome visitor and staff alike for refreshment and conversation. It will also serve as a gathering place for events at the History Discovery Center.
Standing at the center of our beautifully landscaped grounds, the Gazebo will be the site of outdoor programs, performances, and social events. Following in the tradition of days gone by, it will be a focal point for the Society and a welcome addition to the historic neighborhood.
Our Curator’s mission to bring local history to the community will be created and implemented in this space. It will also allow the Curator a place to meet with the myriad of people using the History Discovery Center, as well as conceptualize programs and exhibits
